Compiler Identification

Thank you for this. I am looking for a define that I can use to identify which compiler is being used, i.e. Microsoft's Visual C, IAR's AVR compiler, or gcc. Looking at this list I suspect that if __GNUC__ is defined, I can assume the compiler is gcc.

P.S. Recaptcha is getting harder and harder to use. I got the first one wrong, and the second I had to guess a couple of the letters.
